In 1967 the hang out for us was the old Frost Top Hamburger place. We all would meet there after all the ball games.

There were several really hot chicks back in my day, 1967, but I won't mention any of the ones I did date at one time or other. The girl that stands out in my mind, and I don't understand until today why I didn't ask her out back then was Susan Barfield. I did run into her again at our 30th Class Reunion. Her and I are very good friends now and when I make it back home we will go out and have a good time.

I remember the time we had made the flower area in the middle of the 2 main buildings. All the classes back then would have some kind of project to help improve our school. So this was our donation to our High School

The place I think you are talking about was called Tony's grocery store, back in 67.

This was the first time they split the boys and girls from each other as Andrew Jackson open in 1967. That year Doug Wittington and I were asked to be cheerleaders by the girls for Chalmette. Doug and I weren't eligible to play ball that year and they felt no one would make fun of him or me. On ring day we lead all the seniors threw the halls of AJ and I think we were the only class that were all put on detention for during this. Doug and I were told we couldn't be cheerleaders anymore as we weren't setting good examples for the senior class. The only regret I had about any of this, was that by doing this we got to meet all the good looking girl cheerleaders from the other high schools

Not sure I remember all the details to this one, as it was just so long ago. But there was a fight that broke out at a Nichols and Chalmette football game at home. This fight was so bad that they had to stop the ball game as I remember it.

There were 2 times that I remember a big problem with a basketball game. the first was at McDonald high school in 1966 i think it was where we had a fight in the locker room between the 2 teams. I do remember our coach and I won't mention his name, he also came to blows with their coach. There was a second time we had a big fight, this time it was at East Jefferson. The fans from both schools empty out on to the court. It was so bad, that they had to get the police to escort us out of the parish.

The one teach and there were several that help me graduate from Chalmette. The one that I know helped me the most and I'll never forget this teach in Mrs Geyer, as I had her in freshman English and then for my senior English. I would love to find her, if she is still around to thank her so much for what she did for me then, as I wasn't very thankful at the time. I would like her to know that I do thank her for all the time and BS she had with me.
